🠴 Saffron 🠶

西紅花,學名 Crocus sativus L.,別稱 番紅花、藏紅花、鬱金紅、旃檀花,為鳶尾科番紅花屬植物之乾燥柱頭。常見種類以 藥用番紅花(C. sativus) 最具活性,另有園藝品種如 春番紅花(C. vernus),但不作藥用。五行顏色屬 火行赤色。

性味 辛、甘,性平,歸 心、肝經。藥性活血行散而不峻烈,尤善行血開鬱。其功效 活血化瘀、涼血解毒、安神開鬱,常應用於 月經不調、痛經、產後瘀阻、胸脅刺痛、癥瘕積聚、心煩鬱悶 等。入方如 西紅花湯、活血散瘀類方,多與當歸、川芎、丹參同用以增強化瘀之力。

日常多以小量入藥或泡茶,常見劑量低而需慎用,孕婦忌服。亦用於烹調與天然色素,具芳香與金黃著色性。
