菟絲子（學名 Cuscuta chinensis Lam.）為旋花科一年生或多年生寄生藤本植物，寄生於豆科、葫蘆科等植物莖上。別稱菟絲、菟絲子、砂菟絲。常見種類以成熟種子入藥，藥用部位為乾燥成熟種子。

五行顏色主要對照：黃色至棕黃色，屬腎，對應黑色。

性味歸經：性溫，味甘、鹹，歸肝、腎經。

功效與應用：菟絲子具有補腎益精、養肝明目、固精止瀉作用。臨床常用於腎虛腰膝酸軟、頭暈目眩、精血不足、遺精早泄、慢性腎炎等。可研末沖服或煎湯，亦可與其他補腎藥材配合使用。
